Film screening / conversation with Nikolai Solodnikov
About the event
Nikolai Solodnikov’s first feature film was inspired by Yuri Kazakov’s stories “In a Dream You Wept Bitterly” and “The Little Candle”. Rather than a direct adaptation, it is a poetic reflection on the mystery of childhood, the fragility of memory and the unbroken bond between children and parents.
The cast includes Ivan Urgant, Polina Agureeva, Nadezhda Markina, Leonid Bichevin, Lev Ruzanov and Alyona Kuchkova. After the screening, the audience met director Nikolai Solodnikov to discuss the making of the film, its literary sources and personal memory as a cinematic language.
