Philologist and creator of the literature channel “Armen and Fedor”, Armen Zakharyan spoke about moments when an old era breaks apart and a new one has only begun to take shape. What happens to people, language and texts at the border between worlds? Where does the medieval religious worldview end and humanism begin?
The lecture travelled from Geoffrey Chaucer and Thomas Malory to Leonardo da Vinci, treating literature as a sensitive seismograph of historical change. No prior knowledge was required: the distant Middle Ages proved unexpectedly close to our own uncertain age of transition.
