Anna Vilenskaja / lecture
About the event
Anna Vilenskaja’s lecture “Inventors of Sound” traced how music became the language we recognise today. Who invented chords, major and minor? How did new instruments, systems of notation and sounds emerge that now seem completely natural to modern listeners?
It was a history of music told through the people and ideas that changed the way we hear. In Vilenskaja’s characteristically visual and accessible style, the evening combined historical context, musical examples, humour and close listening.
