A conversation with Alexei Uminsky
About the event
Priest, theologian and educator Alexei Uminsky explored how the Christmas story has been reflected in art and literature over the centuries. Why did some images become especially meaningful, how do Eastern and Western traditions differ, and how has our perception of the holiday changed?
The conversation also traced the path from a sacred feast to today’s culture of trees and gifts. Uminsky invited the audience to look beyond familiar symbols and consider how the Gospel story can speak now — as a journey not only towards God, but towards oneself.
